About JUMPS
For many years the ability to repair PDK transmissions was very limited due to replacement sensors being very expensive, few workshops conducting repairs, and very limited repair knowledge being publicly available.
The JUMPS sensor project started in 2022 when a group of Porsche enthusiasts got together to create a new distance sensor. With extensive experience in the aerospace industry, the group thought they could create a much more effective and lower price sensor.
After completion of design and testing, one of the group’s members, Jeff Richardson, came out of retirement to create JUMPS. The speed sensor was consequently developed to create a full remove and replace distance and speed sensor harness that was to be made available to both individuals and workshops.
The name JUMPS is derived from the first letter of the online names of the four members of the design group.
Jjrichar, Muddtt, PV997, & Stjoh.
In addition to creating the sensor, the JUMPS team wanted to unveil the secrecy behind PDK repairs. A full series of videos were created to help the Porsche community with PDK repairs. In addition, one of the project members, Stjoh, created the PDK pirates website (www.pdkpirates.com) to provide up to date information about PDK repairs and resources.
The JUMPS sensor harness is now being used extensively all around the globe by both DIYers and workshops. The group is very pleased to see many more workshops now entering the PDK repair space with the information that has become available.
